First Dental Visit & Dental Exam
We believe that it is important that we conduct a thorough comprehensive examination on your first visit to our office in order to determine your dental care needs, now and well into the future.
We’re always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your first dentist visit—just call, write, or ask your dentist.
When You Arrive
We have created our facilities with quality patient care, safety and comfort in mind. In the waiting room, you will be greeted by your Patient Service Representative who will get you started on your new patient paperwork.
- Please come in 15 minutes before your appointment so you have time to complete your paperwork.
- Save time: Access your new patient paperwork now. By filling out your forms now and bringing them with you to your first appointment, you can save time in the office later.
Initial comprehensive exam & X-rays
At your first appointment, we will review your health history and all medications that you are taking, check your blood pressure, update any necessary x-rays, inspect your teeth for cavities, conduct an oral cancer and soft tissue screening and evaluation. We will use our intra oral camera system and chair side monitor to capture images of your teeth and gums. We will display them for you during your exam so that we may include you in the diagnosis and treatment planning process. For most patients we will begin treatment with a routine cleaning the same day as your new patient appointment. If there are other circumstances affecting your health or ability to receive immediate treatment, we will discuss the situation with you that day and determine a proper plan for restoring and maintaining good oral health.
